Pondy: Functioning of OPD affected in JIPMER

Puducherry, May 21: Functioning of the out-patients department in the centrally administered JIPMER hospital was affected for about one-and-a-half hours this morning as the medical records department staff resorted to a strike.

Accoridng to JIPMER sources, the registration of out-patients at the hospital was from 0800 hrs to 1030 hrs. The management on Saturday last asked the medical record staffs to begin the registration from 0730 hrs today.

The staff contended that a decision on the issue could be taken only after consulting everybody.

However, with the help of the medical records students, the registration began at 0730 hrs.

The staff members who came at 0800 hrs who noticed this, resorted to a strike affecting the functioning of the OPD.

The Director and Dean of the hospital held talks with the agitating staffs and resolved the issue.
