CPI(M) activists stage 'Bhooporatam' agitation

Rajahmundry, May 21 (UNI) Over 200 Communist Party of India (Marxist) activists hoisted party flags at a work-shop site, measuring 7.5 acres, as part of 'Bhooporatam' agitation here today.

The agitation was led by CPI(M) District Secretary D Subba Rao.

Later, the police arrested the agitators and released them after registering cases.

Meanwhile, Bhadrachalam MP Mediam Babu Rao, addressing the party cadre at reserve grounds, criticised the government for turning a deaf ear to the plea of the poor landless.

He condemned the government for assigning thousands of acres to industrialists.
