Badal briefs Governor on Punjab situation

Chandigarh, May 21 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today called on Governor Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues at the state Raj Bhavan here and briefed him on the situation in the state following clashes between supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda and certain Sikh organisations in the last couple of days.

The Chief Minister spent about 50 minutes with the Governor and elaborated on the steps being taken by the government to check any further eruption of violence in the state.

He also briefed the Governor about the measures taken for the state wide 'bandh' tomorrow, called by the Sikh clergy to protest against the anti-Sikh activities of Dera Sacha Sauda that hurt the sentiments of the community.
