Attack on police parties injures 3 in J

Srinagar, May 21 (UNI) Three police personnel were injured when militants attacked two police parties in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, a police spokesman said.

He said the militants attacked a police party during a search operation is village Dupatyar in south Kashmir district of Anantnag last evening. The police also retaliated and the exchange continued for some time but the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

The militants also lobbed a hand grenade and opened fire on a police post at Nangi in Kishtwar district early this morning. The fire was returned and in exchange of fire two Special Police Officers (SPO) and a police constable were injured. The injured were hospitalised.
