AIADMK activists arrested

Coimbatore, May 21 (UNI) About 65 AIADMK activists, including five MLAs were arrested when they tried to stage a rasta roko protesting anti-encroachment move by city corportation at Selvapuram here today.

The protestors urged the city corporation not to evict the people who had encroached Selvapuram area in the city.

Police said the city corporation officials decided to remove the encroached houses, including an AIADMK party office at Selvapuram area. The activists of the party along with MLAs, including T Malavaram, Pollachi Jayaraman, Chinnasamy, Velumani and S M Velusamy, tried to stage the rasta roko programme.
