Adhir acquitted of twin murder case

Behrampur, May 21 (UNI) A local Court here today acquitted Congress MP Adhir Choudhury and 14 others from charges of a twin murder case.

District Court Judge Bhimchandra ruled that police's version in connection with the murder of Laltu and Hanif Sheikh on July 24 last did not carry any weight and rubbished the police's version regarding the prime accused Adhir Choudhury.

Meanwhile, Mr Choudhury alleged that a CPI(M)-local police nexus was behind his arrest.

However, CPI(M)'s district secretary Niten Choudhury said they did not agree with the party's ruling.
