191 NCC cadets awarded 'C' certificates
Chandigarh, May 21 (UNI) As many as 191 successful NCC Cadets were awarded 'C' Certificates at a function held at the NCC Group Headquarters here today.
Col Manjit Singh, Group Commander, NCC Chandigarh, presided over the function.
NCC 'C' Certificate opens up various prestigious career options, including entry into defence services as commissioned officers, for NCC cadets . Recently, various industrial houses such a Sahara, Reliance and Jet Airways have started recruiting 'C' certificate holders at good salaries and perks.
On their part, the NCC authorities have ensured that a 'C' Certificate holder cadet is a well groomed product of the NCC and conforms to the highest standards of commitment, hard work, discipline and integrity.
NCC Group, Chandigarh, trains nearly 4050 NCC Cadets in 36 different education institutes in the Union Territory of Chandigarh every year. Cadets of the junior division are given 'A' certificates after the successful training of two years in schools whereas the senior division/senior wing cadets are conferred with 'B' and 'C' certificates after completion of two and three years of successful training respectively in their respective colleges.
Of late, the NCC has undertaken a number of measures to motivate the youth to join NCC. One such measure is to publicise achievements of NCC Cadets and recognize their efforts during formal functions.
NCC Group, Chandigarh, had held its Annual Valedictory Function at Chandigarh on March 20, in which all achievers were duly honoured.
