Study centre for 'Janapada Culture' soon: Minister
Mysore, May 20 (UNI) Karnataka Kannada and Culture Minister H S Mahadeva Prasad today announced that a study centre for 'Janapada Culture' would be set up at M M Hills in Chamarajanagara district.
Speaking at the 50th anniversary of Sri Thontadarya Swamiji of Kuderu Mutt here, he said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would lay the foundation stone for the centre on May 29, during his visit to Chamarajanagara district.
The centre would take up research works on the 'Janapada Culture' and 'Bajanas' of various religious mutts in the State.
Karnataka Cooperative and District incharge Minister G T Deve Gowda, speaking on the occasion, said the Government was extending support to religious mutts as it contributed not only to education, but also to other fields like health.
Sri Shivarathri Deshkendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt graced the occasion.
