SIX wounded in scuffle at hospital

Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) At least six people, including two doctors were injured in a scuffle between doctors and family members of a deceased patient at Badaun district hospital.

Former Bahujan Samaj Party counsellor Mehtab (40) was admitted to hospital yesterday following a snake bite. He later died in the hospital, police said.

Blaming hospital authorities for poor treatment, Mehtab's family members along with BSP MLA Muslim Khan's supporters reportedly assaulted the employees, wounding Dr K Verma and Dr G B Lal.

Irked over the incident, doctors have boycotted the work.

Meanwhile, Police Superintendent Prakash D said a large number of police personnel have been deployed in the hospital to avoid any fresh violence.
