Restrict code of conduct to constituency: Yediyurappa
Mangalore, May 20 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today said the BJP has written to the Chief Election Commission to restrict the model code of conduct to only the Assembly segment where bypolls were to be held.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, he said enforcing the code of conduct in the entire district would deeply hamper all development activities. The issue had been brought to the notice of the Governor and the party would meet the Election Commissioner soon to discuss this issue, he added.
On Ullal byelection, Mr Yediyurappa said the bypoll would be a ''friendly fight'' between the coalition partners, BJP and JD(S).
He said there were no factions such as 'Ananthkumar faction' and 'Yediyurappa faction' in the State unit of the party.
