Rangasamy flags off Jyothi Yatra
Puducherry, May 20 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today flagged off 'Jyothi Yatra' to the Rajiv Gandhi memorial at Sriperambadur on the eve of the former Prime Minister's 16th death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Rangasamy paid rich tributes to Rajiv Gandhi and said it was he who strived hard for the economic development of the country on par with other developed nations.
PCC(I) President P Shanmugham and INTUC Leader Mr Ravichandran were also present on the occasion.
Mr Rangasamy said Ms Sonia Gandhi was fulfilling the dreams of her late husband by evolving and executing schemes properly. He called up on the Congress workers to function unitedly to make India one among the most developed nations in the world.
The Chief Minister also received a 'Jyothi Yatra,' taken out from Bangalore here and flagged it off to Sriperambadur.
The Congress party functionaries and caders besides legislators participated in the function.
