Rains forecast in Gangetic West Bengal
Pune, May 20 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and north Rajasthan.
Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over south Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at some places in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave conditions also prevailed at isolated places in the interior parts of southern Tamil Nadu. Hot day conditions prevailed at isolated places in coastal Karnataka.
Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, in some parts of Tamil Nadu, and in remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were above normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, coastal Orissa, east Rajasthan, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in north Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and were below normal in some parts of Uttaranchal, Haryana, west Rajasthan, Gujarat and north Chattisgarh. They were normal over the rest of the country.
