Portuguese police recover girl snatched in Spain
LISBON, May 19 (Reuters) Portuguese police recovered an 11-year-old girl from Eastern Europe they believed had been kidnapped in the Spanish city of Malaga in the early hours today, a police spokesman said.
The spokesman said police arrested the driver of a car with the girl inside after a high-speed chase in the tourist region of the Algarve near the Spanish border.
The girl was believed to have been taken from the back seat of her parents' car while they attended a party in Malaga in the early hours of today, police said.
Portuguese police are also searching for a four-year-old British girl, Madeleine McCann, who was snatched from her apartment in a popular resort in the Algarve 16 days ago.
