Person arrested with one kg cannabis in HP

Dharamshala, May 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Police has arrested a person in Kangra district of the state and seized over one kg of cannabis from him late last evening.

District ASP Santosh Patial said here today that Amit Kumar was arrested from Khara Dhanda road, near Macleodganj, in the district yesterday following a tip off.

The sources said it was, however, not immediately known where the consignment originated and where it was being smuggled to.

The police later produced Amit before a local court, which sent him to judicial custody up till May 28.

The sources said a case has been registered and investigations were on.
