Nortel and Airtel bags Excellence Award
Mumbai, May 20: For the best outsourcing service solutions and their managed services agreement in the year 2007, Network major Nortel and private telecom operator Bharti Airtel have been awarded with the best first steps award, Outsourcing Excellence Awards.
Sponsored jointly by Forbes magazine and the Everest Group, a global outsourcing consulting firm, the annual Outsourcing Excellence Awards recognize excellence in outsourcing partnerships across seven categories. The award in Best First Steps category was awarded to Nortel and Bharti Airtel after the first year of their managed services contract, and reflects Bharti's customer care vision.The award will be formally presented to the companies at a ceremony in New York City later in the year, the press release stated.
Ravi Chauhan, MD, Nortel, India, said, ''Receiving this award is an honor both for Nortel and Airtel. The fact that we have received this award for our alliance with Bharti Airtel in India's highly competitive communications industry.
Dr. Jai Menon, director IT and Innovation, Bharti Airtel Limited said, '' The utility computing outsourcing model with Nortel is yet another business outcome oriented I.T. partnership.'' In a second success in the Outsourcing Excellence Awards, Nortel was also honored with the Best Offshore Partnership Award for its R&D outsourcing alliance with Wipro.
