Muslims offer prayers at Mecca Masjid amid security

Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) Muslims today offered prayers at the Mecca Masjid here, where a bomb blast killed 14 people and injured over 50 on May 18.

Sources said the National Security Guards (NSGs) conducted thorough search of the mosque, before allowing worshippers inside. A metal detector was installed at the entrance and everybody was frisked.

Meanwhile, the NSGs recovered a mobile phone similar to the one recovered by the Andhra Pradesh Police from an unexploded bomb, from a pond inside the Masjid after emptying it. Certain other articles were also recovered from the pond, the sources added.
