Modi, Naval Kishore Sharma condole Chavda's demise
Gandhinagar, May 20 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Governor Naval Kishor Sharma today condoled the death of Iswarbhai Khodabhai Chavda, a freedom fighter and co-operative leader involved in the development of Amul dairy, who died of old age here today at the age of 93.
Mr Modi and Mr Sharma described late Chavda as a champion of the poor section of the society.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Chief Bharat Solanki, who was participating in the Party's Parivartan rally, starting from Ambaji (Banaskantha district in North Gujarat), rushed back to Anand on hearing the news of his grandfather's death.
Mr Chavda will be cremated tommorrow at 0930 hrs in Anand.
