Minister inaugurates '100 epilepsy camp' in temple town

Tirupati, May 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Medical Education Minister Galla Aruna Kumari today inaugurated '100 Epilepsy Camp' jointly organised by the Department of Neurology of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) and Indian Epilepsy Association at SVIMS Auditorium here.

After inauguration, SVIMS Director G Subramaniyam urged the minister the government should provide funds to conduct such programmes and Information Technology come under government scheme.

The Minister said the programmes consider under government scheme and proposed to the government.

Nearly 1,000 epilepsy patients were treated in the programme, medicines and foods were provided on free of cost.

Indian Epilepsy President Dr V S Saxena, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive Officer K V Ramanachary and others also participated in the function.
