Man commits suicide after wife refuses to return home

Shimla, May 20 (UNI) A man in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh committed suicide by jumping from 150-feet high hillock after his wife refused to accompany him back to her in-laws house, police sources today said.

Vinod Kumar, 35, died instantaneously at Poanta Sahib, 184 km from here, on Friday night after jumping from the hillock following his wife Sudesh's 30, refusal to return with him to her in-laws house in Meerut two months after she returned to her parents house.

The sources said soon after failing to convince Sudesh to return home, Vinod climbed the hillock just behind his in-laws house and jumped from the top.

Vinod's parents have been informed of his death and his body has been sent for a post mortem, the sources said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations are on.
