Lightning kills two people in MP

Bhopal, May 20 (UNI) Two people were killed and four injured when lightning struck them in Madhya Pradesh's Badwani district last evening.

Heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh since the past 2-3 days brought respite from intense heat at several places, including the state capital, where maximum temperature dropped to 40 degree Celsius.

The regional meteorological department attributed the change in weather to an upper air circulation over west Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall occurred at isolated places in Hoshangabad, Bhopal and Ujjain divisions places overnight.

A maximum of 43 deg C was recorded in Sheopur district.

Downpour and strong winds lashed Badwani district last evening disrupting normal life. In Sendhwa, roofs of several 'kutcha' houses were blown and electricity and telephone lines were damaged.

The department predicted showers accompanied with lightning at isolated places in various divisions.
