'Jeevanasravanti' appeals Maoists to shun violence

Vizianagaram, May 20 (UNI) The district police today organised 'Jeevanasravanti' (mainstream), an innovative programme to appeal to the underground Maoists through their relatives to shun violence.

Speaking at Parvathipuram mandal in the district here, Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mann questioned the Maoists about the development they had ushered in during the past 30 years.

The programme received a favourable response from the participants on the need to lead a peaceful life.

The families of Maoist activists from Neelakantapuram, Kurupam and Therlam agency areas attended the programme.
