Five children drowned in Ganga

Patna, May 19 (UNI) At least five children drowned in the river Ganges as the boat ferrying them capsized midstream near Khusrupur in Patna district today.

Police said that the victims were on way to Raghopur in Vaishali district when the ill-fated boat capsized midstream. Five children drowned while the others swam to the shore.

'' Divers had been pressed into service to fish-out the bodies,'' police added.

Senior police and civil officials were camping at the site suprevise the search operation of the bodies.
