Five arrested under Excise and NDPS Acts

Hoshiarpur, May 20 (UNI) In its drive against anti-social elements, the district police arrested five persons under various sections of the NDPS Act and the Excise Act last evening and seized smack, poppy husk and liquor from them.

According to the police sources, Model Town police arrested Vinod Kumar near Baba Balak Nath temple here and seized 45 gram smack from him.

In another incident the police seized 7.5 grams smack from Gurjeet Singh near Baddon village.

Meanwhile the Dasuya police raided Ghotra Fast Food Dhaba on Miani road and seized 15,850 ML liquor from the owner of the Dhaba, Darshan Singh.

The Tanda police arrested Baldev Singh and Inderjit Singh of Babak village and seized 1.5 Kg and 800 gram poppy husk from them respectively.
