Father, daughter killed by lightning

Badwani, MP, May 20 (UNI) A father and his daughter were killed and four people were injured when lightning struck them at Kolkheda village in this district, police said today.

Sendhwa Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) Vishnu Kamalkar said Mitharam (24) was returning from his farm along with his daughter Geeta (4) last evening when the incident occurred.

Two women, including Mitharam's wife, and as many children were injured. They were admitted to primary healthcare centre in Dhanaura.

The victims had taken shelter under a tree to protect themselves from heavy rains and wind.

Jail Minister Antar Singh Arya, who is a legislator from the region, had directed to provide assistance to the family members of the deceased.
