Dog days continue in Chennai

Chennai, May 20 (UNI) After a brief respite from the blazing sun for a day, the people of Chennai suffered from intense heat as the mercury once again soared over 40 degrees Celsius, today.

According to MET officials here, while Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3 degrees C, Meenambakkam registered 41.9 degrees C.

After experiencing dog days for about a fortnight, the temperature had come down to 38 degrees C in the city yesterday due to early setting of sea breeze.

Today, the sea breeze set in at 1305 hrs, the officials said.
