Canine menace claims infant's life

Jamshedpur, May 20: Stray dogs have killed a 17-month old infant at Agrico area under Sidhgora police station here.

Police said the child Mayank crawled out his home's back door last evening when his parents were busy talking to some visitors and did not notice when their child had gone out.

They realised only when the neighbours had raised an alarm. The father Rakesh Mukhi along with his neighbours rushed to rescue the child, but was too late as the dogs had badly injured the child.

The child was immediately rushed to Tata Main Hospital but he was declared brought dead.

The menace of the increasing number of stray dogs has becoe a cusae for concern in this steel city, police said.
