Bypolls to MP panchayats

Jabalpur, May 20 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Election Office has announced the poll schedule for byelections to panchayats.

Besides newly-formed panchayats, polls would also take place for panchayats whose tenures are ending. The notification would be issued at 1030 hrs tomorrow thereby setting off the process of submitting nomination papers. The list of polling centres would also be released.

May 28 is the last date for submitting nomination papers.

Scrutiny would take place the following day and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is May 31. Polling is scheduled for June 12 and counting would begin immediately thereafter.
