Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Secretary N Indrasena Reddy today demanded the constitution of counter-intelligence unit to curb the ISI activities as Andhra Pradesh had become a ''centre for terrorist acts.'' Addressing a press conference here, he said the government had failed to control the terrorist activities in the state. The counter-intelligence unit was necessary to check the ISI activities in the state.

He alleged that the All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) had dispirited the police enthusiasm by objecting to their entry into the Mecca Masjid and to set up cameras inside the Mosque where a blast on May 18 left 14 people dead and injured more than 50.

Mr Reddy said the government was resorting ''to vote bank'' politics by supporting the AIMIM. ''The state has become a place for extremist activities after Jammu and Kashmir and the DJS was allegedly provoking violence and creating disturbances,'' he added.

Referring to Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) agitations for SCs categorisation, he said state BJP leaders along with State President Bandaru Dattatreya and others today met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and urged him to solve the problems of MRPS.

Dr Reddy will convene an all-party meeting tomorrow to discuss the matter, he said.
