BJP a divided house, says Congress
Shimla, May 20 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today said contradictory statements by various BJP leaders reflect that it was a ''divided house'' with too many leaders saying different things.
Addressing mediapersons here, party spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said while former chief minister PK Dhumal was on record having said that the next chief minister would be from lower part, party's national vice president Shanta Kumar said recently that anyone could be the state's next CM.
''The statements prove that that there is a complete division within the BJP,'' he said.
Taking the BJP to task for alleging that the Congress had included bogus votes in the voters list, Mr Rathore said on the contrary, it was the BJP that had enrolled large number of bogus votes in various wards.
He urged the State Election Commission to conduct an impartial inquiry into the enrollment of bogus votes in the voters list.
Expressing confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the Hamirpur Lok Sabha by-polls and Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections, he said it was only a question of time now.
