'Voice Matrimony' by BharatMatrimony.com-Airtel

Mumbai, May 20: Internet marriage broker, BharatMatrimony.com has tied up with mobile operator Airtel to launch an innovative service called Voice Matrimony', wherein one can send and receive voice messages to and from their prospective beloved, through their mobile handsets.

''We believe this service is more convenient, simple and accessible compared to members browsing through their inbox to check messages from prospects,'' BharatMatrimony.com Founder and Chief Executive Officer Murugavel Janakiraman said in a statement.

This facility enables registered users of BharatMatrimony.com to record, listen, send and receive voice messages using their mobile handsets. A call will cost users Rs six a minute.

Members can login to their accounts and register themselves for the service, whereby they will be assigned a computer-generated unique eight digit PIN number. This PIN number is to be used as an identity number for all Voice Matrimony' interactions. On dialling 505050, users will be guided through a menu-driven process to record their voice, BharatMatrimony explained.

Content recorded by members will be validated by BharatMatrimony.

com and then hosted on an On Mobile server. However, only paid members are eligible to contact others through voice recordings, the company clarified.

For every voice recording received, users will be alerted through an SMS. The company is planning to extend this facility to other mobile operators in the country and is confident of signing up over one lakh members for the service over the next six months.
