Violinist-Music director Vaidyanathan passes away

Chennai, May 19 (UNI) Eminent violinist and Music director L Vaidyanathan died here this morning following a heart attack.

He was 61. He is survived by his wife and two sons, family sources told UNI.

He suffered the attack at around 0600 hrs this morning and died on way to a hospital.

A famous violinist, Mr Vaidyanathan had scored music for Kannada and Tamil films. He had composed the music for the famous tamil film ''Ezhavathu Manithan'' (Seventh man), which won a lot of acclaim for him.

Born in a music family, Mr Vaidyanathan was the eldest of the famed music trio that included his two brothers L Subramaniam and L Shankar.

The last rites were performed in the evening.
