Valparai to become major tourist destination
Coimbatore, May 19 (UNI) Coimbatore District Collector Dr Neeraj Mittal today said Valparai would be promoted as the 'Seventh Heaven' for tourists and adventure lovers.
Inaugurating a three-day summer festival at Valparai about 80 km from here, he said Valparai region was endowed with rich flora and fauna and has immense tourism potential.
He said the Tamil Nadu government was extending full support to promote tourism in the region.
The collector also inagurated a flower show organised as part of the summer festival and a boating facility near Sree Kumar Estate.
Folk and tribal dances, music night, exclusive sessions for children, food festivals, cricket and football, were also revived after a gap of five years.
