Two sentenced under NDPS Act

Patna, May 19 (UNI) A local court here today convicted two persons under Narcotic Drugs and Psycotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment.

Additonal District and Sessions judge of Patna B K Srivastava found guilty Abhay Singh alias Antoo and Pappu Lala under section 21 of NDPS Act.

Convict Abhay Singh was awarded with five years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 and Pappu Lala was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for three years and to pay fine of Rs 30,000.

According to the charges, both the convicts were indulged in the business of contraband smack and were arrested by Patna police under Khajekalan police station area of the state capital on March 19,2005.
