Two policemen suspended
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, May 19 (UNI) Two policemen have been suspended for beating up a child on not bringing alcohol for them at Jarhagaon village in this district, police said today.
Yesterday, constables Potrik Khalko and Dhirendra Dubey asked 12-year-old Suraj Sahu to fetch liquor for them from a shop. On refusing to do so, he was beaten up brutally.
On receiving information about the incident, Congress MLA Churawan Mangeshkar and other villagers gheraoed the police station and demanded registering of a case.
The Superintendent of Police suspended both the policemen.
The constables, who were absconding, have been traced. Both were found in drunken stupor.
Both the constables and the child were medically examined.
