Traffic blocked in Barnala town

Barnala, May 19 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)-supported sikh students organisation and workers of Akali Dal (Amritsar) today blocked traffic at Kacheri Chowk in the town, protesting against activities of Dera Sacha Sauda.

Brandishing swords, they went in a procession to Kacheri Chowk from Gurdwara Singh Sabha where they had assembled earlier. On way, they set fire to a shop which was, however, extinguished by local shopkeepers.

The situation was stated to be tense in the town.
