Take stern action against those behind blast: BJP

Hyderabad, May 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya today said the government should take stern action against those involved in the bomb blast at the Mecca Masjid yesterday, which killed 16 and left more than 50 others injured.

Addressing a press conference here, he said there must be a consensus in all political parties to curb terrorist activities in the country.

Condemning the blast, he said the government should constitute a special cell headed by a DGP to review the situation and take steps to prevent such incidents in future.

The incident was a clear intelligence failure, he added.

He said Hyderabad had became a centre for terrorist activities and the government should take steps to control the activities of the extremists.

He urged the state government to announce compensation for those, whose shops and establishments were damaged during the mob attack after the blasts.

He visited the NIMS where the injured persons were admitted and consoled them.
