Students boycott classes in north Kashmir against Hyderabad blast
Baramulla, May 19 (UNI) Students of different schools and other educational institutions today boycotted their classes and took to the streets in protest against yesterday's bomb blast during Friday prayers at the historic Mecca Masjid at Hyderabad.
The students also condemned the police firing on peaceful demonstrators who were protesting against the blast.
Students, including girls, took to the streets raising slogans demanding immediate arrest of communal forces, who triggered the bomb and killed innocent muslim devotees.
Alleging that Muslims are being made victims in the Indian cities, they demanded protection of minorities living in different parts of the country.
''We strongly condemned the police action on peaceful demonstrators who were protesting against the blast,'' the students said.
The students marched through different streets, including main chowk Baramulla, before dispersing peacefully.
However, other activities in the town remained unaffected as shops and business establishments were open and traffic was also normal on all routes.
