NSCN (IM) cadre succumbs to injuries

Itanagar, May 19 (UNI) An NSCM (IM) cadre succumbed to his bullet wounds at Khonsa in Arunachal's Tirap district recently when he tried to snatch a rifle from an on duty Assam Rifles (AR) jawan.

According to sources, the national socialist council of nagalim, actively operating in the district, received a serious blow when its cadre Taichat Wangpan, alias Thomas, was apprehended by the force from Longding market while he was indulging in extortion.

While in custody, the militant tried to snatch a rifle from the jawan forcing the troops to fire at him. He sustained one bullet injury and succumbed to his injuries while being evacuated to the district hospital after being treated at Longding.

The neutralisation of ultra activities had been a sequel to the recent apprehension of minimum 10 cadres in the district during last month by the AR, the sources added.
