MCGM
Mumbai, May 19 (UNI) With the monsoon round the corner, The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has joined hands with NGOs' to cope up with the potential threat brought by rains.
A meeting, held recently in this regard, was chaired by municipal commissioner Jayraj Pathak, and attended by 17 delegates from nine NGOs' comprising Indian Red Cross Society, Sarista Foundation, Agni, Yuvak Pratishthan, Karmayog and I Clean Mumbai.
The MCGM plans includes road and nalla cleaning works, strenghtening the response capabilities of Fire Brigade and ward offices. The NGOs' have also given assurances to extend their full support.
Discussions on global warming, growing population and use of plastic were also held, a press release said.
