Justice Bhalla takes oath as Chhattisgarh HC judge
Raipur, May 19 (UNI) Mr Justice Jagdish Bhalla was today sworn-in as a judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court following his transfer from Allahabad High Court.
Governor E S L Narasimhan administered the oath to Mr Justice Bhalla at a function at the Raj Bhawan.
Official sources said Mr Justice Bhalla, who is the senior most among the judges of Chhattisgarh, was tipped to hold the charge of Chief Justice.
Outgoing Chief Justice H L Dattu has been transferred to the Kerala High court.
About half a dozen judges had held office of Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, which came into existence with the formation of the new state in November, 2000.
