Judge's bahu gets her infant's custody
New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) The wife and son of a sitting High Court judge today handed over the custody of three-month-old baby Moit to his mother, in compliance with yesterday's Supreme Court orders.
The wife, Samina Khan had accused her in-laws of throwing her out of UP Bhavan in Delhi and keeping her child away from her.
The Apex court had directed the wife and son of the sitting judge, Jaya Quddusi and Rahat Quddusi, to produce the three month-old Moit before the Additional District and Sessions judge for handing over his custody to the mother.
The baby was handed over to Samina today in the court of District and Sessions Judge Veena Birbal.
The Bench, apart from issuing the interim direction for custody of the infant to the mother, had also issued notices to the wife and son of the sitting judge.
In her petition, Samina had stated that her in-laws had been harassing her for dowry since her marriage to Rahat three years back.
Her father-in-law is a sitting judge of the Orissa High Court in Cuttack.
