Five pilgrims injured as bus hits railing in HP
Dharamshala, May 19 (UNI) Five pilgrims were injured, one of them seriously, after their bus hit a railing in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh today, district deputy commissioner Bharat Khera said.
Pilgrims from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh were on their way to Bajjreshwari Temple in the district when their bus hit the railing of Bathu Bridge following which the conductor fell into the river after its door was forced open, he told UNI here.
Mr Khera said the condition of the bus conductor was serious after the accident and has been referred to Dr R P Government Medical College and Hospital at Dharamshala.
Following the accident vehicular traffic on the Dharamshala-Shimla National Highway remained suspended for over three hours after the bus was lifted by cranes from the scene of the accident, he said.
He said all vehicles on the highway were diverted through link roads during the blockade.
