Engineer arrested for takng bribe

Bangalore, May 19 (UNI) An Assistant Executive Engineer of Karnataka State Highway Improvement Project, Dattathreya Shetty was caught redhanded by Lokayukta officials, while accepting bribe for showing official favour.

The official, working in Nelamangala Sub-Division office, Mandya, was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 to make entries in MB book and to prepare the bill pertaining to the work done by complainant M Anand, a contractor.

The arrested was produced before a Magistrate, who remanded him in judicial custody.
