Constitue Spl Commission to probe fake encounter cases:CPI-ML

Tiruchirapalli, May 19 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) today demanded the Union Government constitute a Special Commission to probe the fake encounter cases in Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to newspersons here, Party All India General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said the Special Commission should be set up to probe such cases and bring the culprits before the law as there might be many more hidden encounter cases across the country.

Strongly condemning yesterday's bomb blast at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad, he criticised Andhra Pradesh police for not handling the situation in an effective manner after the blast. It was a total lapse of security arrangements.

Urging the government to find out the culprits behind the incident and take stern action against them, he demanded that more compensation be given to the affected families.

He said the party was holding nationwide conventions on ten-point charter of people's demands, which include immediate scrapping of special economic zones scheme and forcible acquisition of agricultural lands for the purpose and termination of Indo-US nuclear deal, among other things.
