BHPV bags Rs 20 cr order for LCA

Visakhpatnam, May 19: The Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Limited (BHPV) today said it received a Rs 20-crore order from the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for supply of 20 sets of critical heat exchangers to be used in environment control and secondary power system of light combat aircraft(LCA)-- Tejas.

According to a BHPV spokesman here, this was the result of BHPV's extensive research and development efforts over the years with the active support of the Aeronautical Development Agency.

The BHPV had all the capabilities for designing and fabricating such state-of-the-art compact heat exchangers for the aircraft industry.

The heat exchangers had passed extensive performance tests, including flight-testing and been qualified by concerned authorities for use in LCA.
