9 passengers fall prey to Zharkhurani group

Lucknow, May 19 (UNI) Nine people were brought down in an unconscious state from two different trains at Gorakhpur railway station today.

Railway police said five people were found in an unconscious state in Delhi-Patna 2560 Sampark Kranti Express, whereas four in Delhi-Guwahati 5610 Awadh Assam Express.

They were reportedly targeted by a Zeharkhurani group.

The passengers were admitted to hospital.

One person has been taken in police custody and further investigations are on.

In a separate incident, a thief fled with the personal effects of a passenger on board in 469 Passenger train last night.

The passenger suffered a loss of Rs 42,000 in cash, a licensed pistol and three mobile phones, among other things.
