3 held, gold jewellery worth Rs 75 lakh seized

Vadodara, May 19 (UNI) City police have arrested three persons proceeding to Mumbai in a van near Karjan Char Rasta and recovered gold jewellery worth over Rs 75 lakh from them late last evening.

Police said, following a tip off, a police team led by assistant superintendent of police Himanshu Shukla lay in wait at Karjan and spotted the vehicle late last evening.

They stopped the vehicle and a search yeilded gold jewellery worth over Rs 75 lakh.

The arrested have been identified as Paul Miyal Christian, Sandeep Lilachand Jain and Chand Mohd Quereshi, all hailing from Bangalore.
