Aizawl, May 18 (UNI) The group A officers of the Mizoram government have threatened to go on an indefinite mass-casual-leave strike if there demands were not fulfiled within this month.
The officers were dissatisfied with the government's measures to create a pay parity with their engineer counterparts.
A general body meeting of the Mizoram Government Group A Officers' Coordination Committee (MGOACC) has decided to submit a memorandum to the government and wait till end of this month.
The officers were displeased at the government's decision to create joint secretary and under-secretary posts in the Public Works, Public Health Engineering and Power and Electricity departments.
They have alleged that a cabinet memorandum had been drafted in this regard.
The chief minister, however, have denied the draft of any such memorandum.
The Group A officers, demanding pay parity with their engineer counterparts since July 2004, had gone on mass-casual-leave strike thrice.
