Soz hails Cabinet decision on Muslim Panel report

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz today termed historic, the decision of the Cabinet to implement the recommendations of Justice Rajinder Sachar Committee on status of Muslims in the country.

In a statement Prof Soz, hailing the decision of the Union Cabinet to implement the Sachar Panel recommendations to ameliorate the lot of the Muslims, said the credit for this decision should go to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh whose farsightedness had helped adopt scientific criteria to do justice to Mulslims and other minority communities in the country.

He said Dr Singh's resolve to implement the recommendations of Sachar Panel would go a long way in empowering, the Muslim Community and also help develop the national economy and polity.

He congratulated Union Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay for working continuously on the issue.
