Seven BEST buses attacked by mob

Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) A rampaging mob, protesting the blasts at the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad, smashed the windshields of seven stationary Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) buses at the Kurla bus terminal in the eastern suburb of the city.

The incident occurred at 1515 hrs hours after the mob turned violent and barged into the terminal. They broke the windshields of the parked buses. In the ensuing melee, a BEST driver sustained minor injuries, police control sources said.

Additional security reinforcements have been rushed to the area and senior police officials are monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up around the city in view of the blasts in Hyderabad, the sources added.
